Job Description:
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and organizational development. The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator, possess strong leadership skills, and be passionate about creating a positive workplace culture that aligns with the hotel’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Staffing: Manage the recruitment process for all positions within the hotel, from advertising job openings to conducting interviews and hiring qualified candidates. Ensure that staffing levels are optimized based on the hotel’s operational requirements.
- Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring clear communication between staff and management. Promote an open-door policy and ensure that employees feel valued and heard.
- Performance Management: Implement and oversee a performance management system that includes regular appraisals, feedback, and goal setting. Support department heads in managing performance issues and help employees achieve their professional development goals.
- Training & Development: Develop and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. Promote ongoing learning opportunities that align with hotel standards and industry best practices.
- Compliance & Policy Development: Ensure adherence to local labor laws, industry regulations, and hotel policies. Regularly review HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Help design competitive compensation and benefits packages that align with industry standards.
- Employee Engagement & Wellbeing: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, well-being, and motivation. Promote work-life balance and create a supportive and inclusive work environment.
- HR Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate HR records, including employment contracts, personnel files, and attendance. Prepare regular HR reports for senior management, providing insights into staffing trends, employee performance, and departmental needs.
- Health, Safety, and Welfare: Ensure the safety and welfare of all hotel employees, promoting a safe working environment and conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Workforce Planning: Collaborate with senior management to plan and forecast HR needs based on hotel growth, seasonal trends, and operational demands.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or in a senior HR role within the hospitality industry, ideally in hotels or resorts.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations, particularly in India.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in employee engagement, wellness programs, and staff retention strategies.
- Previous experience in recruitment for hospitality-related roles is an advantage.
- Knowledge of performance management systems and best practices in employee development.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi and/or regional languages is a plus.
